Police said the bicyclist was traveling southbound in the left lane of Highway 92 when vehicles swerved to avoid the rider
Sierra Vista, AZ.– Police are investigating an incident where a bicyclist was fatally hit by a vehicle in Sierra Vista on Saturday evening.
According to the Sierra Vista Police Department, the incident took place on Highway 92, south of Buffalo Soldier Trail, at about 6:40 p.m. November 22.
Police said the bicyclist was traveling southbound in the left lane of Highway 92 when vehicles swerved to avoid the rider.
One driver, however, was unable to swerve and collided with the bicyclist.
The rider was taken to Canyon Vista Medical Center with major injuries and was later declared deceased.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The accident remains under investigation.
