Bicyclist Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Middlefield Road and Prior Lane in Atherton

According to the police, a bicyclist was traveling southbound on Middlefield Road in the bicycle lane when they were hit by a southbound vehicle that was trying to make a right turn onto Prior Lane.

Atherton, CA. – A bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle in Atherton on Wednesday morning, according to the Atherton Police Department.

The incident took place on Middlefield Road and Prior Lane at about 7:40 a.m. May 7.

According to the police, a bicyclist was traveling southbound on Middlefield Road in the bicycle lane when they were hit by a southbound vehicle that was trying to make a right turn onto Prior Lane.

The rider was rushed to a hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police reported that drugs and alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
