Pedestrian Hospitalized after Berkeley Accident at Virginia Street and San Pablo Avenue

Berkeley, California (April 18, 2023) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle at an intersection in Berkeley on Sunday afternoon, according to the authorities.

The crash happened at Virginia Street and San Pablo Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. April 16.

A man was crossing San Pablo Avenue in a westerly direction in the crosswalk when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.

The pedestrian, a 53-year-old Berkeley man, was transported to a hospital for evaluation.

The driver remained at the scene after the accident.

Authorities said impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The crash is under investigation.
