Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Collision with SUV on SR 20 in Mazama

Mazama, Washington (May 15, 2023) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision that happened on Sunday morning near Mazama in Okanogan County.

According to a report by the authorities, a 45-year-old man from Bellingham was riding a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle on State Route 20 at around 9:30 a.m. when he crashed into a 2011 Honda Element SUV.

The SUV had slowed down to make a left turn when it was hit.

The unidentified man suffered major injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

41-year-old Sarah Gilman of Winthrop and 61-year-old Ann Diamond of Mazama were inside the SUV and were unhurt.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
