2 Injured in Avila Beach Crash on Highway 101 near San Luis Bay Drive
Avila Beach, California (May 24, 2022) – An injury traffic collision occurred on Monday night in Avila Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place just before 10:22 p.m. on May 23, on Highway 101 near San Luis Bay Drive.
According to CHP, a Toyota Corolla and a Honda Civic were involved in the collision, which caused one of them to roll over.
The two occupants of the Honda were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Toyota was arrested on suspicion of DUI following the accident.
Both lanes of southbound Highway 101 were closed as crews worked to clear the scene.
The CHP is investigating to find out the cause of the accident.
