At Least 1 Severely Hurt in Fallbrook DUI Accident on Highway 76 near Horse Ranch Creek Road

Fallbrook, California (March 18, 2023) – At least one person was severely injured in a wrong-way DUI accident that happened early Saturday morning in Fallbrook, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident was reported at about 2:39 a.m. on Highway 76 near Horse Ranch Creek Road.

As per the report, a white Chevrolet Tahoe collided with another car traveling in the wrong direction.

Parties got trapped inside one of the cars, and Good Samaritans were trying to break windows to get them out. One of the cars reportedly caught fire.

Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded to the scene and blocked both directions of traffic.

At least one person was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The report said intoxication was a factor contributing to the accident but did not give more details.

The crash is under investigation.
