At Least 1 Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 280 in San Jose
San Jose, California (May 11, 2023) – At least one person suffered serious injuries in a multi-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle that happened late Wednesday afternoon in San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred at about 5:22 p.m. on southbound Interstate 280, just north of the 7th Street on-ramp.
A Harley-Davidson motorcycle and two cars were involved in the accident.
The motorcyclist was left lying conscious in traffic lanes after the collision.
Firefighters responded to the scene and blocked the Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 lanes.
The firefighters transported at least one person to the hospital with major injuries.
At 6 a.m., all but the No. 1 lane were reopened. The lane was reopened an hour later.
CHP is investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
