At Least 1 Suffers Major Injuries in Two-Vehicle Collision on High Street On-Ramp to Interstate 880

Oakland, California (December 30, 2022) – At least one person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Friday morning on an on-ramp in Oakland, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck was reported at about 2:16 a.m. on the High Street on-ramp to northbound Interstate 880.

A dark GMC Sierra and a gray Ford Explorer were involved in the collision. The vehicles collided under unclear circumstances, leaving the GMC’s airbags deployed.

An occupant in the GMC had difficulties breathing after the crash.

Oakland firefighters responded to the scene and found one person in full cardiac arrest.

The CHP report said at least one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

CHP and Oakland PD units were on the scene.
