At Least 1 Hospitalized After Crash Involving Semi-Truck on 5 Freeway near County Road 22

Woodland, California (February 2, 2023) – An early Thursday morning traffic crash involving a big rig in Woodland left at least one person with serious injuries, the California Highway Patrol said.

The wreck took place at around 12:38 a.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of County Road 22.

A 4-door Acura sedan collided with a big rig for unknown reasons. The sedan ended up underneath the semi-truck.

CHP officers and Yolo County firefighters responded to the scene.

The CHP report said the collision resulted in major injuries to at least one person.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
