1 Injured in Antioch Rollover Crash on Westbound Highway 4 near Hillcrest Avenue On-Ramp
Antioch, California (April 8, 2021) – One person was hospitalized following a single-car accident that happened early Thursday morning in Antioch, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at around 12:26 a.m. on westbound Highway 4 near the Hillcrest Avenue on-ramp.
The report said a vehicle went off the roadway, hit a guardrail, and overturned several times on the right-hand shoulder. The car came to a rest partially blocking the Hillcrest on-ramp.
A female party came out of the vehicle, which had gas leaking.
Antioch Police Department officers responded to the scene to find the driver involved with a laceration to the forehead.
Contra Costa firefighters also responded to the scene and transported the victim to John Muir Health Walnut Creek Medical Center.
Caltrans was requested to respond to the scene with a sweeper for 100 feet of damaged guardrail and debris in the roadway.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
