4-Year-Old Amaya Taylor Killed in Fallbrook Collision on Interstate 15

Fallbrook, California (April 28, 2023) – Amaya Taylor, 4, was one of two people killed in a crash with a vehicle being pursued by a California Fish and Wildlife officer on Sunday in Fallbrook, according to authorities.
The deadly incident took place on Interstate 15 on Sunday, April 23.
According to the report, Erick Arambula, 23, was driving northbound on Old Highway 395 he was spotted by an officer running a red light.
The officer activated the lights and sirens and began pursuing Arambula, who accelerated rapidly and swerved in and out of oncoming lanes.
Arambula then drifted down an embankment onto Interstate 15, and ended up heading the wrong way.
Shortly after, Arambula’s truck collided head-on with an oncoming car, then rolled over and collided with a second car.
The occupants of the car that was hit head-on, Courteney Taylor, 29, and her daughter Amaya Taylor, were killed in the collision.
The three people in the second car hit by the truck were treated for minor injuries.
Arambula was placed under arrest for multiple charges, including felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
