Three firefighters hospitalized after collision on Highway 299 near Spice Lane in Alturas
Alturas, CA. – Multiple firefighters were hospitalized after a fire engine overturned near Alturas on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 9:05 a.m. on Highway 299 near Spice Lane.
A 2019 International Fire Engine driven by a CAL FIRE Fire Captain was traveling westbound on Highway 299 when it veered off the road and overturned.
The fire engine came to a rest on its wheels in a field.
The Fire Captain and two other firefighters onboard were injured in the accident and were taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
More details about the accident were not released.
The California Highway Patrol and the Alturas Police Department are investigating the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
