Aldo Desantiago Hurt in Ventura Crash on 118 Freeway 

Ventura, California (May 11, 2023) – Aldo Jose Desantiago, of Tarzana, was injured in a traffic crash on Tuesday evening in Ventura, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at about 5:30 p.m. May 9, on the 118 Freeway near Mesa School Road.

The CHP said Russell James Young Jr., of Santa Barbara, was driving a 2007 Lexus LS west on the freeway when he was involved in a head-on collision with an oncoming semi-truck operated by Desantiago.

Desantiago was pulled out of the truck by good Samaritans. 

Medics transported him to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. 

Young Jr was also trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency crews. 

He was flown to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries.

Drugs and alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the incident, CHP said.

The investigation is ongoing.
