Parkland, WA.- A person was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident that happened near Parkland on Friday, according to a report by the Washington State Patrol.
The incident took place on State Route 7 near 143rd Street on July 4.
The WSP reported that a driver traveling southbound on SR 7 lost control of the vehicle and swerved into the sidewalk, where the vehicle struck a person walking along the road.
The pedestrian was given CPR by the emergency crews but died of the injuries sustained.
Authorities arrested the driver on charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
