Murrieta, CA. – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday afternoon in Murrieta.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 3 p.m. on the northbound Escondido (215) Freeway, just south of Clinton Keith Road.
A motorcyclist was reportedly splitting lanes at about 75 mph when he lost control and hit the right rear portion of a Ford F-150 towing a utility trailer.
The rider then struck the right side of the utility trailer, ricocheted off, and collided with the left front tire of a Peterbilt cement mixer.
The rider suffered major injuries in the crash. He was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment.
The drivers of the pickup truck and the cement mixer were not hurt.
The motorcycle sustained moderate damage. The left front tire of the cement mixer ruptured, and the pickup truck and utility trailer acquired minor damage.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
