The wreck occurred around 5:10 p.m. on Highway 180 about 2.5 miles east of Hume Road.
Fresno County, CA. – 42-year-old Eric Abbott of Visalia died in a solo motorcycle accident that happened late Sunday afternoon in Fresno County.
The wreck occurred around 5:10 p.m. on Highway 180 about 2.5 miles east of Hume Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Abbott was riding a black Suzuki motorcycle westbound on the highway when he approached a curve in the roadway.
The motorcyclist was unable to successfully negotiate the curve and ended up going off the roadway, colliding into a mountainside.
Abbott died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
