Goleta, CA – A woman was killed early Sunday morning in a pedestrian accident in Western Goleta, according to the deputies.
The deadly accident was reported just before 1:00 a.m., June 29, in the 7300 block of Calle Real.
Deputies said Jeselyn Invina, 68, of Goleta, was driving westbound when she looked away from the road due to bright headlights from an oncoming eastbound vehicle. She veered to the right, left the roadway, and hit a female pedestrian before coming to a rest in a nearby field.
The pedestrian was found 300 feet from where the vehicle came to rest. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Invina didn't know she had struck a person until deputies informed her at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
