Murrieta, CA – One person is dead following a two-vehicle traffic collision on Interstate 215 in Murieta early Thursday morning.
The deadly collision was reported at about 3:23 a.m. on southbound Interstate 215, north of Clinton Keith Road.
According to the CHP, a white sedan was stopped in the fast lane with no hazards on and two people were outside the sedan.
Moments later, a second vehicle crashed into the white sedan. One of the vehicles caught fire and became fully engulfed after the collision.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Office confirmed that one person was killed in the crash. The victim was only identified as an adult male. The name of the victim is pending confirmation of identification by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner.
Two flatbed tow trucks were requested to the scene to remove the vehicles.
No additional details are available at this time.
The crash is under investigation.
