Palmdale, CA – A wrong-way driver was killed in a high-speed collision on Rancho Vista Boulevard in Palmdale late Friday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office.
The deadly crash occurred at 11:27 p.m. on July 4 on Rancho Vista Boulevard near Avenue N-8.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said a man was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed into an oncoming 2010 Chrysler 300 head-on.
The Mazda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name was not immediately released.
The driver of the Chrysler was transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of unspecified injuries.
No additional information was provided.
The crash is under investigation.
