Farm Worker Killed in Sutter County Crash on Carlson Road near O’Banion Road
Sutter County, California (August 18, 2021) – A farm worker was struck and killed by a truck in Sutter County on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident took place on Carlson Road, north of O’Banion Road at about 7:45 a.m.
CHP said a worker was standing between a 2009 Ford F550 work truck and its trailer when he was struck as the truck began to move. The driver, Sergio Garcia Ochoa, 35, of Gridley, had been working on an equipment when he got into the truck and began driving.
Farm Worker Dies in Sutter County Accident on Carlson Road
The worker who was struck was killed in the accident. He was only identified as a 24-year-old man from Yuba City.
Ochoa stopped the truck after the accident.
No further details were released.
The CHP is handling the investigation.
