Woman Fatally Hit by Vehicle at Long Beach Intersection Identified

, CA. – 33-year-old Johnisha Brown died at a hospital about two weeks after she was struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Long Beach, authorities said.

The accident took place around 5:20 p.m. July 20 at Seventh Street and Stanley Avenue.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Brown, who was residing in Long Beach, was crossing the street near the intersection outside of a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee heading eastbound on Seventh Street.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene and took Brown to the hospital in critical condition.

The victim died Tuesday as a result of the injuries suffered in the crash.

The 50-year-old Long Beach resident driving the Jeep stopped and remained at the scene of the collision.

Investigators said speed, drugs or alcohol were not believed to be contributing factors.
