April Zoglauer, Baby Killed in San Jose Crash at Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard; Two 15-Year-Old Boys Arrested

San Jose, California (November 9, 2023) – The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the pregnant woman who died last month in a hit-and-run accident in San Jose as April Marie Zoglauer, 21, of San Jose.
Zoglauer and her baby died after the collision that happened around 8:42 p.m. on October 24 at Blossom Hill Road and Winfield Boulevard.
Emergency personnel responded to the intersection and found Zoglauer injured. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died. Doctors successfully delivered her baby but listed it in critical condition. The baby also died the next day.
Police investigations revealed that Zoglauer was driving a 2008 black Nissan sedan eastbound on Blossom Hill when two 15-year-old boys in a stolen 2013 white Hyundai sedan ran a red light while going south on Winfield and hit the Nissan.
The two boys fled the scene on foot after the collision.
Police arrested one boy on October 28 and booked him into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of “various crimes.”
The second teen was arrested last Thursday and was also booked into the same facility.
