The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the incident and extricated a female driver from one of the cars

Santa Barbara, CA – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon near Buellton in Santa Barbara.
The fatal crash happened at around 1:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 101, just north of the Nojoqui Summit.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision. The impact of the crash sent one of the cars about 300 feet over the side of the highway.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the incident and extricated a female driver from one of the cars.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The female driver of the second car was unhurt and stayed at the accident scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
