A 33-year-old Raymundo Rangel was speeding his silver Mercedes-Benz on the road when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a female pedestrian, before coming to rest in a riverbed.
Anaheim, CA. – A female pedestrian on her 50s was struck and killed on South Rio Vista Street in Anaheim Tuesday evening.
The Anaheim Police Department received reports regarding a deadly pedestrian crash on South Rio Vista Street and Wagner Avenue at around 6:30 p.m.
A 33-year-old Raymundo Rangel was speeding his silver Mercedes-Benz on the road when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a female pedestrian, before coming to rest in a riverbed.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rangel and another man were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Rangel was then taken to custody for gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI, police said.
No more information about the crash was available.
The incident remains under investigation.
