Lacey, Washington State (November 7, 2023) – A female pedestrian was killed in a crash Monday evening in Lacey.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident happened at around 6 p.m. on Interstate 5.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in unclear circumstances.

A woman only identified as a 33-year-old Missouri resident was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The lanes were closed near Carpenter Road Northeast for several hours before reopening at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Washington State Department of Transportation diverted traffic to Martin Way East.

An investigation is ongoing.
