Varinder Singh ID’d as Farm Worker Killed in Sutter County Crash on Carlson Road near O’Banion Road
Sutter County, California (August 19, 2021) – The farm worker who was struck and killed by a truck in Sutter County on Wednesday morning has been identified as Varinder Singh, 25, of Yuba City, according to the authorities.
The wreck happened on Carlson Road, north of O’Banion Road at around 7:45 a.m. August 18.
CHP said Singh and another worker were standing between a 2009 Ford F550 work truck and its trailer when Singh was struck when the truck began to move.
Varinder Singh Killed in Sutter County Accident
The operator of the truck, Sergio Garcia Ochoa, 35, of Gridley, had been working on a peach tree shaker when he got into the truck and began driving.
Singh was killed in the accident.
Ochoa stopped the truck after the accident.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
