Santa Cruz County, CA. – The 82-year-old woman who died after she was hit by an e-bike Friday morning in Santa Cruz County was identified by her daughter as Helen “Pookie” Hines, as per a local news source.
The accident happened around 5:50 a.m. on Opal Cliff Drive, east of Court Drive.

Hines sustained major injuries in the accident. She was airlifted to Valley Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
The cyclist was taken to Dominican Hospital by ground ambulance with unspecified injuries.
Hines daughter, Cindy Diola, said her mother was on her morning walk when the crash occurred.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Santa Cruz County, CA.- Two people were injured in a collision involving a pedestrian in Santa Cruz County on Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred on Opal Cliff Drive, east of Court Drive at around 5:50 a.m. September 27.
CHP said an 80-year-old Santa Cruz man was riding an e-bike on the right shoulder of Opal Cliff Drive when he collided with an 82-year-old Santa Cruz woman walking eastbound.
The woman was flown to Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
The bike rider was transported by ambulance to Dominican Hospital with unspecified injuries.
CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The crash remained under investigation.
