Rancho Cucamonga, CA. – 15-year-old Aiden Portillo is paralyzed from the chest down after he was involved in a car crash about two weeks ago in Rancho Cucamonga, his family said.
Aiden was a passenger in an Uber that was struck by a driver who was speeding away from law enforcers on October 5.
Aiden and three of his friends had ordered an Uber ride to go to In-N-Out when a white Nissan Altima fleeing police ran a red light at Foothill Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue and struck their car.
The crash left six people with injuries, including two occupants in the suspect vehicle. All the patients were taken to the hospital.
Portillo's injuries were the most serious. He remains hospitalized for his injuries. According to his family, doctors said he is paralyzed from the chest down and may not be able to walk. The family is, however, hopeful that someday he will walk again.
A GoFundMe account was opened to help raise funds towards the teen's journey to recovery.
The suspect is believed to have been under the influence at the time of the crash.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA. – Two people were hospitalized after a police chase ended in a car collision Saturday night in Rancho Cucamonga.
The accident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. near Etiwanda Avenue and Foothill Boulevard.
Authorities said Fontana police officers responded to a call after another law enforcement agency lost a suspect during a pursuit.
The officers found the suspect car near the Rancho Cucamonga intersection.
The suspect driver then struck another vehicle.
Two passengers in the second car were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Another person, possibly the suspect, was also transported in handcuffs.
The report did not mention why the suspect was being pursued by police.
An investigation is ongoing.
