, CA. – The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office has identified 47-year-old Rebecca Joanne Olsen of San Jose as mother killed in a wrong-way crash on Highway 85 in San Jose Monday afternoon.

According to the CHP, the mishap occurred at around 3:40 p.m. August 26 on State Route 85 near Highway 85.

Reportedly, 39-year-old Duncan McQuarrie of Orlando, Florida, was driving a Toyota Tacoma southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway in a high rate of speed when he slammed into a Tesla Model Y carrying Olsen and her 14-year-old son.

Olsen and her unidentified son were declared dead at the scene.

McQuarrie was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

McQuarrie remained hospitalized and was being held, pending potential charges.

An investigation is ongoing.

San Jose, CA. – Two people died in a collision involving a wrong-way driver on Monday afternoon in San Jose.

The 3:40 p.m. accident occurred on Highway 85 near Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A pickup truck was traveling south in the northbound lanes of the highway when it struck a Tesla.

Authorities say the driver and a passenger in the Tesla were killed in the crash.

The pickup truck driver was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
