Luis Rios Killed in Car Accident on Kimberlina Road in Wasco

, CA – The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified 18-year-old Luis Jesus Rios of as a victim killed in a car crash on Kimberlina Road in Wasco early this month.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 7:30 a.m. December 7 on the eastbound Kimberlina Road near Root Avenue.

Rios was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck on the eastbound Kimberlina Road near Root Avenue in dense fog, which reduced visibility. At the same time, a John Deere tractor, pulling an implement of husbandry, was traveling southbound across the road.

Rios was reportedly driving at an unsafe speed for the conditions and was unable to slow down in time, resulting in a crash with the right side of the implement.

The driver of the John Deere tractor was not hurt.

An investigation is ongoing.

Bakersfield, CA. – A driver was killed in a high-speed crash on Saturday morning in Bakersfield.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Kimberlina Road near Root Avenue.

A GMC Sierra pickup truck was heading eastbound on Kimberlina Road when it crashed into a John Deere tractor traveling southbound across the road.

Kern County Fire personnel had to extricate the GMC driver from the vehicle before being transported to Kern Medical Hospital in Bakersfield, where they later died.

The driver of the John Deere tractor was not injured.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
