A Ford F-550 truck crashed into a GMC, causing a chain-reaction collision involving a Honda CRV and a Chevy pickup truck.
Tehachapi, CA – The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified the driver and passenger killed in Wednesday morning crash on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road in Tehachapi as 38-year-old Jesus Alberto Sotelo Ramirez of Lancaster and 54-year-old Juan Fernando Velez of Los Angeles.
According to the CHP Mojave station, the collision happened on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road, north of Oak Creek Road at around 7:25 a.m. November 20.
The preliminary investigation revealed a Ford F-550 pick-up truck southbound on Tehachapi Willow Springs driven by a 27-year-old Delano man collided with a northbound GMC 3500 pick-up truck driven by a 51-year-old Lancaster man.
A Honda CRV and a Chevrolet 2500 pick-up truck were also involved in the wreck.
Ramirez and Valez, who were the occupants in the Honda died at the crash site.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by CHP.

A preliminary investigation by the California Highway Patrol revealed that a 27-year-old Delano man was driving a Ford F-550 pickup truck southbound on Tehachapi Willow Springs.
At the same time, a 51-year-old Lancaster man was driving a GMC 3500 pick-up truck northbound on the same road. Also, a 38-year-old Lancaster man was driving a Honda CRV northbound on Tehachapi Willow Springs Road while a 59-year-old Palmdale man was driving a Chevy 2500 pickup truck northbound on the same road.
For unknown reasons, the Ford F-550 truck crashed into the GMC, causing a chain-reaction collision involving the Honda CRV and the Chevy pickup truck.
The Lancaster man and his passenger died at the accident scene.
The Kern County coroner did not disclose the identities of the two pending notification of the next of kin.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
