Hernandez was driving northbound but failed to stop at a stop sign at Niles at Kern streets, crashing into a police patrol car.

Ignacio Hernandez Fatally Hurt in Car Accident at Niles and Kern Streets in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA. – The Kern County Coroner's Office identified Ignacio Javier Banderas Hernandez, 29, of as a driver killed in an accident at an intersection in Bakersfield.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident happened at around 5:40 p.m. October 13 at Niles and Kern Streets.

Hernandez was driving northbound but failed to stop at a stop sign at Niles at Kern streets, crashing into a Bakersfield police patrol car.

Hernandez was ejected from the car and died at the scene. Krystal Rubi Reynaga was sent to the hospital and later died.

The 2-year-old was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their condition is still unknown.

An investigation is ongoing.
