Merced County, CA. – One of the two persons who died Friday afternoon in a wrong-way accident on Highway 152 in Merced County has been identified as Marcy Robison, 37, a Clovis Unified School District employee.
The Merced County Coroner's Office said Robison and a 64-year-old man whose name is yet to be released died in a head-on collision that happened just east of Arroya Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 64-year-old man had been driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 152 for about five to six miles when he initially sideswiped another car. The man continued several miles down the road and collided head-on with a 2016 Honda Pilot driven by Robison.
The pickup truck caught fire and became fully engulfed.
Robison and the wrong-way driver died at the scene.
Robison was a resource specialist at Bud Rank Elementary School in Clovis.
It remained unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.

Merced County, CA.- Two people were killed in an accident that happened in Merced County on Friday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol in Los Banos said.
The wreck occurred on Highway 152 on Friday, September 27.
The CHP said a driver heading east in the westbound lanes of Highway 152 sideswiped a vehicle and collided head-on with a full-size SUV.
The vehicles that collided head-on burst into flames following the accident.
Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
The collision is under investigation.
