Santa Maria, CA. – Two drivers were hospitalized after their vehicles collided Friday morning in Santa Maria, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Personnel from the Santa Barbara County and Santa Maria Fire departments and American Medical Response responded to the 1500 block of East Betteravia Road, where two vehicles collided head-on around 5:40 a.m.
The responders found the two women who were driving the cars with moderate injuries. One of them required minor extrication.
Both victims were taken by two AMR ambulances to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The drivers were the sole occupants.
Investigators closed East Betteravia Road as they worked the scene.

Santa Maria, CA. – One person was seriously injured in a fiery car crash on Friday morning in Santa Maria.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Betteravia Road near A Street at around 5:40 a.m.
Two sedans were involved in the collision. The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately determined. CHP reports that one of the cars caught fire after the collision.
At least one person was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
