Teen Killed, 3 Others Injured in Fiery Collision on 710 Freeway in Long Beach

, CA. – A 15-year-old boy died, and three other teenagers were hospitalized after their suspected stolen car collided with a semi-truck during a police chase in Long Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday on the northbound 710 Freeway near Anaheim Street.

Police said four Long Beach teens, including the 15-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old girl, were in a stolen Kia that was being tracked by a police helicopter.

The 15-year-old boy was driving the Kia when he reportedly attempted to get off the freeway by cutting in front of a semi-truck. 

The vehicles collided and the Kia caught fire. Police officers pulled the occupants from the burning car.

The teen driver was killed in the accident.

The other teenagers were hospitalized with moderate injuries.

The 22-year-old driver of the big rig was not seriously injured.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
