Tucson, AZ.- A person was severely injured in an auto-pedestrian collision at an intersection in Tucson on Thursday night, according to the Tucson Police Department.

According to the police, a vehicle hit a pedestrian near the intersection. It’s unclear how the victim ended up being struck.
The pedestrian was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries. The identities of the involved parties were not immediately released.
The northbound side of Alvernon Way was shut down following the accident. There were no additional details on the crash.
An investigation to determine the cause of the collision is being conducted by the Tucson Police Department.
