Long Beach police said a 2002 Toyota Sequoia was eastbound on Wardlow Road when it red a red light at the intersection and struck a 2014 Toyota Tundra heading south on Palo Verde Avenue
Long Beach, CA.- The man who was killed in a crash at an intersection in Long Beach on Tuesday morning has been identified as Sovan Koy, 35, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office.
The wreck took place at Wardlow Road and Palo Verde Avenue at about 7:35 a.m. November 26.
Long Beach police said a 2002 Toyota Sequoia was eastbound on Wardlow Road when it red a red light at the intersection and struck a 2014 Toyota Tundra heading south on Palo Verde Avenue.
The Sequoia reportedly overturned following the crash.
Koy, who was driving the Sequoia, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police said distracted driving and speed were suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The Long Beach Police Department is investigating the accident.
