1 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Siskiyou County Crash on Interstate 5 near Klamath River Bridge

Siskiyou County, California (September 14, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Monday afternoon wrong-way accident that killed one person and left two other parties seriously injured in Siskiyou County.
The deadly accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m., on September 13, on Interstate 5 northbound on the Klamath River Bridge.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a dark grey 2012 Maserati sedan was driving southbound in the northbound lanes. At the same time, the driver of a 2016 Ford F-250 was heading northbound.
The driver of the Ford reportedly saw the Maserati coming and tried to swerve into the adjacent lane. The Maserati driver swerved in the same direction, and the two crashed head-on.
2 Injured in Fatal Interstate 5 Crash
Sadly, the driver of the Maserati was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two people in the Ford sustained major injuries and were hospitalized for treatment.
