1 Airlifted after Chain-Reaction Collision on PCH near Tonga Street in Malibu

Ventura County, California (November 10, 2023) – One person was critically injured in a fiery multi-vehicle collision that left several others injured on Friday morning in Malibu.
The accident happened on Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Tonga Street, at around 6:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle and a trash truck collided on the highway and caught fire. About 40 minutes later, a big rig truck “plowed through” the first accident scene. A Tesla and Ford F150 truck were also involved in the second crash.
Four people had to be extricated from the wreckage after the initial crash.
One of the victims had to be airlifted to Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks in critical condition.
Four other people including the driver of the Tesla were transported to the hospital for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
