San Diego, CA: Pedestrian Hit, Injured by Suspected DUI Driver at 11th Avenue and G Street

San Diego, California (September 12, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a suspected drunken driver Sunday evening at an intersection in downtown San Diego, according to authorities.

The major injury collision occurred at around 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of 11th Avenue and G Street.

Authorities said a man in his 30s was crossing the road inside a crosswalk when he was hit by a Chevrolet Captiva that was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound G Street onto 11th Avenue.

Pedestrian Injured After Being Hit by Vehicle in San Diego

The man sustained a compound fracture to his right leg and was transported to a local hospital.  His name and current condition were not available.

The driver involved, a 46-year-old man, was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries before being arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The crash remains under investigation.
