Salvador Rodriguez Hurt in Mendocino County Collision on Highway 101
Mendocino County, California (August 7, 2021) – Salvador Rodriguez, 63, of Williams, was among two people injured in a crash on Thursday afternoon near Laytonville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place at about 2:50 p.m. August 5, on Highway 101 near Steele Lane.
CHP said Alejandro T. Castrejon, 24, was driving a 2005 Saturn north on Highway 101 when he swerved into the southbound side and collided with an oncoming 2012 Freightliner operated by Rodriguez.

Castrejon was flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of major injuries.
Rodriguez was transported to Adventist Health Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits for minor injuries.
The crash caused a closure of both sides of Highway 101 as authorities worked at the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
