Ronell Thomas Killed in Adelanto Car Crash at Bellflower Street and Seneca Road

Adelanto, California (September 25, 2023) – A 13-year-old 8th grader was killed in a car crash early Sunday morning in Adelanto.

The accident was reported around 1:08 a.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Bellflower Street and Seneca Road in Adelanto, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately established.

Ronell Thomas, a student at Columbia Middle School, was a passenger in one of the cars and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

In a separate incident, a 6th-grader at Melva Davis Academy of Excellence died after being struck by a car at a bus stop.

Authorities say a vehicle was traveling on Seneca Road between Jonathan Street and Delicious Street at around 7:10 a.m. when it struck Aiden Ortiz, who died at the scene.

More details about the accident were not released.

The Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is investigating the cause of the accident.
