Old Town, CA – Ricardo Hernandez, 76, has been identified as one of two Goleta residents involved in a pedestrian accident at an intersection in Old Town Tuesday evening.
The deadly crash happened at around 7 p.m. December 24 at Hollister Avenue and Magnolia Drive, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
The driver failed to see the pedestrians, who were not in a marked crosswalk, and struck them.
Hernandez and the other pedestrian were transported to the hospital, where Hernandez succumbed to his injuries. The other unidentified victim remained in hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the mishap.
