The pedestrian was walking along the shoulder of SB 15 Freeway and was fatally struck by a Dodge Caravan that fled the scene

San Bernardino, CA – A pedestrian died after being hit by a car on Friday night in Halloran Springs, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The accident happened at around 9:49 p.m. on the shoulder of southbound Interstate 15 after the Halloran Springs Road exit at around 9:49 p.m.
A Dodge Caravan passed the semi on the right shoulder and struck a pedestrian who was walking along the shoulder.
The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The vehicle did not stop at the scene but was later located in the Mountain Pass area near Nipton Road and was impounded for evidence.
It is unknown if the driver was arrested.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
