Midway District, CA.- A motorcyclist and a pedestrian sustained major injuries in a crash that took place in the Midway District neighbourhood of on Tuesday night, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The crash happened in the 4000 block of Sports Arena Boulevard at around 11:15 p.m. July 30.

Police said a 41-year-old man was riding a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle in the area when he crashed into a pedestrian walking east mid-block on Sports Arena Boulevard.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle due to the impact of the crash and was reportedly unconscious at the scene.

The pedestrian, a 54-year-old man, sustained major injuries including a fractured left femur.

The San Diego Police Department is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
