Pedestrian Seriously Hurt in Hillcrest Accident on University Avenue

Hillcrest, Calif. – A pedestrian sustained major injuries in a crash with a hit-and-run driver in Hillcrest on Sunday night, according to the Police Department.

The crash took place in the 1000 block of University Avenue at about 8:41 p.m. November 19.

Police said a 33-year-old man was walking west on University Avenue when he was struck by a silver 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350 driven by a 35-year-old man.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with a brain bleed and skull fracture.

The driver reportedly ran from the scene but was followed and brought back to the scene by witnesses.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run and DUI.

Police are investigating the incident.
