Pierce County, WA.- A was hit and killed by a vehicle in Pierce County on Monday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident took place on State Route 7 near 126th Street East at about 7:04 p.m. March 3.

A 28-year-old Spanaway man was trying to walk across SR 7 when he was hit by a southbound Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver continued traveling on SR 7 but was stopped and arrested just south of 126th Street East.

The driver, a 48-year-old Ellensburg man, was arrested on multiple charges including hit-and-run.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
