San Jose, CA. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night on Interstate 680 in San Jose, the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities were notified about the crash around 8:34 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-680 south of the Berryessa Road on-ramp.
CHP officers and San Jose firefighters responded to the scene and found a pedestrian who was hit by a white Ford F-150.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was allegedly running from left to right when the crash happened.
The driver stopped on the right shoulder after the collision. The pickup truck sustained major front-end damage.
CHP officers are investigating the accident.
