According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 4:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes at the Story Road exit.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver of the big rig stopped and cooperated with investigators.
The far three left lanes were closed until around 6:30 a.m. following the crash.
