1 Person Seriously Hurt in San Diego Car Accident on State Route 163

San Diego, California (November 4, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle traffic collision in San Diego early Saturday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at about 3:57 a.m. on southbound Highway 163 at Kearny Villa Road.

According to the CHP, a smaller 4-door vehicle, an SUV, and a third vehicle were involved in the crash. A witness told the CHP that the vehicles were being recklessly driven prior to the collision.

Authorities say one of the vehicles may have overturned and landed on its roof following the collision. A driver was trapped inside one of the vehicles. The driver sustained major injuries in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
